I've been with the Benedict Center for almost 13 years.
I earned a bachelor of arts degree in English and history and am certified to teach adult literacy. Also, I earned a masters of arts degree in adult education.
I was first drawn to this agency because of its work as an advocate for women in corrections. Being here allows me to follow a work path that matches my own values in the area of women's rights.
I am extremely lucky because I know that at the Benedict Center I am not alone. I am part of a group of people who passionately work for real justice in every area of Milwaukee's criminal justice system. Working with the women in our program has taught me a lot about human strength and resilience. The women come to us with amazing burdens, but also come filled with hope that they can overcome and create better lives for themselves and their families.
They give me inspiration every day.
