Located at the Benedict Center, the program works in conjunction with the federal defender, public defender, children’s services, private defense counsel, and probation officers on a fee for service basis in constructing community sentencing plans.

The Benedict Center developed the Sentencing Advocacy Program and SAM with an advisory committee including representatives from the judiciary, the community, the Department of Corrections, the State Public Defender’s Office, the Federal Defender, the District Attorney’s Office, private defense attorneys, and private practice sentencing advocates. SAM will update information quarterly.
